Gremi's Good Things
Gremi’s Good Things
It’s no secret that our office loves football (go Panthers!), but we love organizations that strive to do good even more. The Thomas Davis Defending Dreams Foundation does annual book bag drives, a leadership academy, a Thanksgiving dinner, a holiday toy drive, and a football camp for kids. We love all the good they are doing in our community.
This organization is “devoted to fostering character development in communities.” Character education is important and we love that, in addition to schools, this organization works with families and communities. It definitely takes a village.
We’re always looking for ways to eliminate any outdated systems in the districts we visit. OrangeQC allows districts to put janitorial inspections and work orders in the palm of their custodial and maintenance teams’ hands with a user-friendly app.
We’re big fans of this operations management tool. It’s a maintenance and facilities management software and helps districts stay on top of both reactive and preventive maintenance.
It’s important for kids to go out into green spaces and learn. Whether they’re learning about those green spaces or they’re working through algebra problems, taking the classroom outside is a concept we are happy to see being pushed. This organization works with teachers to get them outside with their students.
Real Food for Kids
We love that this organization works with kids to help them make healthy choices. Through different educational programs, kids are empowered to learn about the power of fueling our bodies with the right food. Not only do they advocate for changes in schools, they also have The Lunch Room Collective that works to make changes in public health policies and programs.
Part of creating a positive learning environment is ensuring safety for everyone in the building. Safeguard provides assessments, emergency response plans, training, and exercises to help schools not only feel safe but be safe.
